World Ocean Week is June 1 – June 8 🌎
Come join South Island SUP, Mer Tales Ocean Journeys and Pacific Wild for our Immersive Marine Ecology Paddle and FUNdraiser.
Ever wondered how kelp reproduce? Or whether eels actually live in eelgrass? Have you spotted a northern kelp crab up close, or considered what sea otters and sunstars might have in common? Discover the hidden connections between the underwater world and life on land, from insects to orca whales, as you paddle through coastal waters.
Join Mer Tales Ocean Journeys’ professional Marine Biologist and paddle guide, Gina Lemieux, and Pacific Wild’sMarine Specialist, Sydney Dixon, for a Saturday Stand-up Paddleboard adventure that dives into the mysteries of the sea. Along the way, we’ll do our part for the ocean—collecting marine debris as we go (collection buckets and telescoping nets provided).
Come curious, win prizes, leave inspired—and maybe even a little saltier.
By donation – donations will support Pacific Wild in their important ocean conservation initiatives. Suggested minimum amount is $10.
Where: Willows Beach near Cattle Point (north end of Esplanade Avenue)
