fall edition of the Red Paddle Co Ride Out!
Enjoy a weekend of Stand Up Paddleboard ocean and river experiences on southern Vancouver Island on the West Coast of Canada.
Why: Diverse coastline with chances to see humpback whales and Orcas as well as seals and sea lions; smooth river with spawning salmon and hungry seals, sea lions and possibly black bears; amazing community of paddlers!
When: Saturday October 14, 2023 (1pm to 4pm) and Sunday October 15, 2023 (11am to 2pm)
Where: UPDATED LOCATIONS as of Oct 10th East Sooke/Becher Bay (Saturday) and Sooke River (Sunday) (locations subject to change depending on weather)
Who: Anyone with a sense of adventure! We plan on keeping the tours at a recreational to intermediate level. You should have some SUP experience and be able to paddle at an average of 2-3km/hr with light wind. We plan our adventures to have a tail wind both directions 🙂 All our adventures are guided by Paddle Canada Accredited Instructors with extensive ocean SUP experience.
Cost: Saturday $90 and Sunday $120. Red Paddle Co. board, paddle, PFD, safety gear and dry bags included. Drysuit/wetsuit with booties/gloves can be added for $35/day. Food, travel, accommodation not included.
Travel: Travel time between Victoria and the launch site is approximately 1 hour each way on both days. We will help arrange carpooling for those interested.
