Join Faro Sailing and South Island SUP for a 2-day, 1-night sailing and paddleboarding adventure in the Southern Gulf Islands. Over the weekend, you’ll split your time between hands-on sailing aboard Silver Sea Star, a 37-foot sailboat, and guided SUP adventures along the coastline of Pender Island. Expect clear waters, sandstone shorelines, hidden beaches, marine wildlife, and a relaxed small-group atmosphere. No prior sailing or paddleboarding experience is required — just a sense of adventure and a willingness to learn, explore, and have fun on the water.
Itinerary
Saturday 26th September – Meet at Swartz Bay
Meet the group, get oriented, and split into two groups for the weekend.
Day 1 — Sail or SUP to Pender Island
Half the group will sail aboard Silver Sea Star, while the other half will ferry to Pender to paddleboard with South Island SUP. Activities may include sailing skills, SUP skills, navigation, trip planning, currents, safety, and coastal exploration.
Arrive on Pender Island
Settle in at OrcaView Lodge, a waterfront property with ocean views and separate bedrooms.
Evening at OrcaView Lodge
Enjoy dinner, relax by the water, and take in the evening atmosphere. Conditions permitting, there may be a chance to experience bioluminescence.
Sunday 27th September
Day 2 — Switch activities
Groups switch activities so everyone gets a full sailing and SUP experience over the weekend.
Return to Swartz Bay
Travel back from Pender Island and wrap up the trip after a weekend of sailing, paddling, learning, and exploring.
