World Ocean Week 🌊 is June 1 – 9 this year and we have some FUN, special SUP events lined up to kick-start and complete the week as well as to celebrate World Ocean Day on June 8.

Kick-start World Ocean Week on June 1 by joining South Island SUP, Mer Tales Ocean Journeys and Ocean Networks Canada for our FREE Family Beach Day and Stand-Up Paddleboarding at Cadboro Bay.
Family-oriented offerings include free stand-up paddleboarding sessions, ocean-related games and activities at the beach, and giveaway items like Ocean Networks Canada’s #KnowTheOcean activity book.
When: June 1 from 9am to 1pm
Where: Cadboro Bay beach in Cadboro-Gyro Park
Registration: No registration required, just show up!
We ask that attendees walk, bike, bus, or carpool to the event if possible! Otherwise, please park in accordance with local parking regulations and signage. Parking is available at the north end of the Park, or in a nearby lot outside the Park.
June 8 is World Ocean Day! 🌎
Come join South Island SUP, Mer Tales Ocean Journeys and Pacific Wild for our World Ocean Day FUNdraiser and Ocean Clean Up.
We’ll collect debris we find during the paddle to help keep our oceans clean! Bring gloves if desired to protect your hands. We’ll provide some colourful collection buckets!
When: June 8 from 10am to 11:30am
Where: Willows Beach near Cattle Point (north end of Esplanade Avenue)
